SNL@40

For all the ups, all the downs, all the shit and all the diamonds, SNL has been a pretty steady through-line for most of our grown-up lives.  I laughed when Chevy Chase (!) did "Weekend Update"  ("No you don't blow on it, that's just an expression.")  And my kids laughed when Tina Fey and Jimmy Fallon did "Weekend Update."  ("Meanwhile, in France, 'American Cheese' will now be known as 'Idiot Cheese.'")  SNL played a big part in the reason I'm where I am and probably the reason most of my compatriots are where they are, too.  (Both old and young compatriots)  Its GPA probably averages out to a B or B-.   Not bad for 40 years.

Saturday Night Live #1

If anyone's interested the very first episode of Saturday Night Live ("SNL" to you kids) is airing in the regular SNL time-slot tonight at 11:30pm.  I'm curious to hear what all you "melenomals"  think of the episode that started it off!  (Tomorrow night {2/15/15} is the 40th anniversary special)
